Degree Days
Heating degree days are entered daily, from either a Degree Day Clock as Total for the season; actual Degree Day Reading as Daily Units or the Average Temperature for the last 24 hours. Calculation is automatically performed. The Degree Days menu option, shown next to the Blue Arrow, is located under the Edit menu.

Add a new Degree Day under the Degree Days menu option displays the
Enter Degree Days for Today screen.
It comes up with the current date. Enter in the Degree Day number for the current date
and choose the input method. The new entry is shown at the bottom of the screen.
Input Method
Season Total
Keeps a running total of the degree days. For example on the day 1/1/2001 the SEASON TOTAL
degree days were at 3300 and the Daily degree day unit for 1/2/2001 was 20, then the TOTAL
degree day for 1/2/2001 would be 3320. Use the TOTAL method when the SEASON TOTAL is known.
If you have a degree day clock that keeps track of and reads the season total, that number is
entered in for the current date using the TOTAL method.
Daily Units
This column lets you see the actual daily degree day unit for the current date.
The Daily Units method takes the current degree day reading and adds it to the SEASON TOTAL,
or the previous day. For example if todayís degree day unit is 32, type in 32 using the
Daily Units method. That number is then added, by the program, to the SEASON TOTAL.
Daily Temp Average
The average temperature for the last 24 hours is entered and the current degree day SEASON TOTAL
is automatically calculated. The average temperature works just like the Daily Units method.
Print Days
Print Degree Days (Pink Arrow) displays the Degree Days by Date screen. The screen is printable.
